Bring Your Own Export
Pull the roster out of whatever you already use — payroll, HR, or a spreadsheet someone maintains by hand. The importer reads Excel and CSV, matches your column headings to the fields carriers need, and handles the things that usually break a census: dates stored as numbers, ZIP codes missing their leading zero, two-digit years.

What the census includes
One row per person — employees plus any spouses and children who would be enrolling:

Age is calculated for you from each date of birth as of your requested coverage start date.
Your employees' information is handled carefully
Census data is encrypted in transit and stored in a HIPAA-eligible Google Cloud environment covered by a Business Associate Agreement. The file you upload is read entirely inside your own browser — it is never stored on this website's servers. Only the census you review and submit is saved, and only your licensed advisor can access it. We never sell or share your data.

Group coverage is a year-round relationship, not a one-time quote: someone has to field the claims question in March and handle the renewal in October. For your account, that is the same person who quoted it.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it actually take to get quotes back?+
Your submission is instant. Carrier turnaround is not — most small-group quotes come back within one to three weeks, depending on the carrier and the time of year. Renewal season is slower. We'll tell you if anything is running long rather than leaving you guessing.
What file formats can I upload?+
Excel (.xlsx) and CSV (.csv). Most payroll and HR systems export one of these directly. You can also download our template if you'd rather start from a blank sheet.
What if my column names don't match your template?+
That's expected, and it's handled. The importer recognizes common variations — "DOB" or "Birth Date" for date of birth, "Sex" for gender, "Date of Hire" for hire date, "Non-Smoker" for tobacco status. Anything it can't place is flagged so you can correct it before submitting.
Do I have to include dependents?+
Include spouses and children who would be enrolling. Carriers rate on the full enrolling population, so leaving them off produces a quote that changes later. Mark each row's relationship as Employee, Spouse, or Child.
How many employees do I need to qualify?+
Many Utah small-group plans are available starting with just one or two enrolled employees. Carriers also have minimum participation and contribution requirements — usually at least half the employee premium. If your group doesn't qualify, we'll tell you and walk through the alternatives.
