What Our Clients Say
Frequently Asked Questions
What is ACA Marketplace insurance?+
ACA Marketplace (also called "Obamacare") plans are individual and family health insurance plans sold under Affordable Care Act rules. Many buyers qualify for premium subsidies that lower the monthly cost based on household income.
When can I enroll?+
You can enroll during the annual Open Enrollment Period, or any time during the year if you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period due to a life event like losing other coverage, moving, marriage, or having a baby.
Will I qualify for a subsidy?+
Many Utah households qualify for premium tax credits that significantly reduce monthly costs. We'll estimate your subsidy eligibility as part of your free consultation.
Do I have to pay Utah Healthcare Agency for help enrolling?+
No. Our guidance is free — we're compensated by the insurance carrier, not by you, whether or not you enroll through us.
How do I pay my Marketplace premium once I'm enrolled?+
Your monthly premium is paid directly to the insurance carrier you selected — not to the Marketplace, HealthCare.gov, or Utah Healthcare Agency. Carriers typically bill you directly and offer autopay, online bill pay, or mail-in options. Your first payment (sometimes called a "binder payment") usually has to be received before coverage becomes active, so it's worth setting up payment right away to avoid a gap in coverage.
